I feel like I've done needle work my whole life because I spent my childhood summers in Denmark. As most Danes will tell you, there are some summers that are so cold and rainy, you spend most of your time indoors, looking for something to do.
We would typically read, do puzzles or spend the wettest days knitting or needle pointing. Some of my best memories are of my grandmother baking something for us, putting on the kettle for tea, and showing us how to sew.
While we were huddled indoors, my grandfather would be working in his garden. The heavy downpours and a moderate temperature had a great effect on his flowers: roses, rose hip, wisteria and lilac grew like weeds.
Boo & The Bunny is my way of honoring the two hobbies to which my wonderful grandparents introduced me: gardening and needlework. It’s also an opportunity to prolong the life of some incredibly luxurious garments. - Annemarie Rothe
